Celebrating the work of Ted Green MBE
We want to raise £10,000 to create Ted's Acre, a special patch of land in Heal's foundation rewilding site dedicated to the legend that is Ted Green MBE, Founding Patron of our young charity Heal, but better known as the founder of the Ancient Tree Forum and a world authority on many tree-related subjects.
About Ted's Acre
Ted's Acre will be a special place within Heal's foundation rewilding site for visitors to see rewilding in action, to learn about the value of trees and to be inspired by Ted's work of a lifetime.
We're halfway there!
In December 2021, we launched a campaign as part of The Big Give's Christmas Challenge.

We raised £2,500 in donations and £2,500 in match funding, reaching our target of £5,000.
Fundraising target
We need to raise £10,000 to create Ted's Acre. The money will be used to:

-
£9,000 - buy the land
-
£1,000 - create signs and information boards
Man's passion for ancient trees is boundless, touching all walks of life, professions and classes and is a continuous thread throughout history. We should recognise that the UK's greatest obligation to the conservation of European biodiversity, heritage and culture rests in our ancient veteran trees

Nature needs our help
Heal is addressing three intertwined problems. Nature in the UK is in crisis, with habitat loss driving drastic declines in wildlife populations. The climate is changing and we need nature-based solutions to enable us to combat rising CO2 and make the land and its wildlife more resilient to the impact of climate change.

Heal is raising money to buy land in England to rewild it, giving it back to nature forever. By restoring degraded habitats, we will provide refuge for vulnerable species and support the return of wildlife in abundance. Rewilding captures excess carbon from the air and locks it in healthy soil, plants and trees.
