Heal Somerset tours
See our site 'pre-wilding'
Service Description
Our first site tour dates are launched! This will be a unique chance to see Heal Somerset at the very beginning of its rewilding journey. You will be able to see it 'pre-wilding' and to say, in years to come, 'I was there, I remember what it was like'. There is a lot to see if you know what to look for, or if you are coming on a guided tour like this. Please bear in mind that this site only began its recovery from its ecologically depleted state at the beginning of 2023. Each tour of around two hours will be led by a member of the Heal team or a volunteer tour guide, for up to ten people. Tours will start at 9am for light refreshments and a 9.20am start, finishing at around 11.15-11.30am, for age 14+ and only accompanied under 18s. We currently have four tour dates scheduled in June and more will be added. Heal Somerset is a beautiful quiet location in the Somerset countryside, only a few miles from the A303 and from the Wiltshire border. The site is currently closed to the public as facilities are being prepared, so the exact location is not yet being given but tour participants will be given full details. The tours are being initially being run on a requested donation basis. We will provide a link to make a donation as part of the booking process. This booking will be for a standard site tour. We are also trialling a novel option as part of our programme: the Silent Tour, which is the other tour booking option currently available.
