Raise money, buy land, rewild it
Our goal of creating a Heal site in every English county – 10,000 hectares in total – starts with funding our foundation site in the south of England. We are using a combination of donations and affordable lending.
We received over 3,500 donations
We grew a social media following of over 12,000
Our foundation site
We’ve made excellent headway with our funding strategy and in July 2021 reached agreement on a £3 million package of financial support from Direct Line Group, and are in discussions with Triodos Bank UK, part of Europe’s leading sustainable bank, about further financial support.
These arrangements mean that we are on track to meet our target of an acquisition in 2022 in the south of England, providing a suitable landholding can be identified.
Heal is as much about community as it is about acquiring sites across England for nature recovery.
We’re bringing together people who share a determination to take action now on the biodiversity and climate emergencies and creating opportunities for them to learn more, to exchange ideas, to pass on experience, make new friends and to be together, whether as volunteers, supporters or taking part in Heal events virtually or in person.
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us on our journey so far. Your donations of time, money and expertise, and your help spreading the word about Heal and rewilding, means the world to us.
We'll keep fighting for nature in 2022. This is an emergency, and together we can turn things around.
